Alliance Healthcare has joined forces with Pharmacist Support in a three-year partnership which the two organisations hope will allow future generations of pharmacists to access help through the charity’s student bursary scheme.
Pharmacist Support chief executive Danielle Hunt (pictured) said Alliance Healthcare will help the charity “plan and execute initiatives that have a sustained impact over time” and provide “stability, enabling us to allocate resources more efficiently and plan with confidence” as they continue to offer help to pharmacy students struggling to make ends meet.
The bursary scheme helps third year pharmacy students and fourth year students doing a sandwich degree who are entering their final year of study and who, after starting their pharmacy degree, face financial difficulties “due to an unforeseen adversity.” Successful applicants are awarded bursaries of £3,000 or £5,000.
“Our collaboration with Alliance Healthcare UK marks a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to supporting future generations of pharmacists,” Hunt said.
“Together, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of these students, providing them with the resources they need to overcome challenges and pursue successful careers in pharmacy.
“Alliance Healthcare UK shares our commitment to empowering the next generation of pharmacy professionals and this collaboration will strengthen our collective efforts to nurture talent and promote excellence in the pharmacy sector.”
Alliance Healthcare UK managing director Marie Evans said: “We are excited to partner with Pharmacist Support on their annual student bursary scheme. This partnership reflects our commitment to investing in the future of pharmacy professionals and fostering a supportive environment for aspiring talent in the field.
“We believe in the importance of investing in the education and wellbeing of aspiring pharmacists, and this partnership aligns perfectly with our values and commitment to making a positive impact on the communities we serve.”
The bursary scheme opens on January 29. The closing date for applications is April 22.
